Educational Program for Gifted and talented Youth

 

The Einstein Summer courses are three-week and four-week residential programs for academically talented and motivated high-school students. The Summer Institute provides an opportunity for these students to enrich and accelerate their academic pursuits and to meet others who share their interests and abilities.

2011 Session Dates

Session 1: July 4 - July 22

Session 2: July 25 - August 12

Session 2E: August 15 - September 2

 

Summer Institute participants live in supervised Einstein housing and are taught by Institute Einstein instructors. Students engage in intensive study in a single course, and they are introduced to topics not typically presented at the high-school level. The Einstein Summer Institute provides a taste of college life in the beautiful surroundings of the International School Campus.

Summer Institute subject areas include mathematics, science, writing, humanities, computer science, engineering, English, Dutch, German, Russian, Japanese, Chinese and Norwegian languages.

 

Summer program in the Netherlands & Belgium

 

The Einstein Summer courses are two-to-four-week residential programs for academically talented and motivated middle and high-school students. The Summer courses provide an opportunity for these students to pursue their intellectual curiosity and meet others who share their interests and abilities. Participants are enrolled in a single intensive-study course, taught by an Instituut Einstein instructor, and covering topics not typically presented at their grade level. For 2010, the Instituut Einstein Summer courses will be held on the school campuses in the Netherlands and Belgium.

Summer courses High School Program (Ages 13 - 17)

The Summer courses High School Program consists of two sessions at Instituut Einstein. Subject areas include bioscience, computer science, Chemistry, mathematics, physical science, English, Dutch, German, Russian, Japanese, Chinese and Norwegian and writing.
In addition to their main intensive course, students will participate in sight-seeing excursions that allow them to learn the history and culture of the region. Past Summer courses participants have come from 44 countries, and students leave with a sense of academic accomplishment, new friends, and fond memories of a wonderful time spent at Instituut Einstein.

Summer courses Middle School Program (Ages 11 - 13)

The Einstein Summer courses Middle School Program consists of three two-week sessions at Instituut Einstein for students in grades 6 and 7. Similar to the High School Program, this program provides academic enrichment, a taste of college life at Instituut Einstein and the opportunity to meet others with similar interests and abilities. Subject areas include bioscience, computer science, Chemistry, mathematics, physical science, English, Dutch, German, Russian, Japanese, Chinese and Norwegian. However, students are housed by gender, rather than subject area, and the courses are designed specifically for academically talented and motivated middle-school students.

In addition to their main intensive course, students will participate in sight-seeing excursions that allow them to learn the history and culture of the region.

 

Application for Admission

To apply for the Summer courses:

1.     Complete the Application form below.

2.     Submit the completed Application form by mail. Note that a  500 application fee is required.

Applications for courses in which space is available will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Note that there is no deadline by which forms must be submitted; applications will be reviewed when we receive all the required forms.

Tuition includes housing and dining in supervised Einstein residences, towels and bedding, field trip expenses, instruction, course materials, and transportation between our student campus and the Schiphol, International airport of Amsterdam.

submit the payment to the Institute's account, please see enrollment form, to Stichting Instituut Einstein, under indication of the student's name.
